I finally replaced my 13-yr old original Mavic Crossride wheelset with the 2011 model. I was super excited to receive them until I gave them a spin (before mounting tires) and discovered they were out of true. What an enormous buzz kill! My bike has been down for three weeks and the very first thing I've got to do instead of mounting tires and finally taking a much anticipated ride is pay my LBS to true my brand new wheels? Shame on Mavic! Anyway, having sorted that out, I ditched the crappy rust-prone original alloy skewers for a set of Mavic's own composite skewers.
