I'm an experienced bicycle mechanic and for $50, this is a better than average wheel.spoke tension was reasonably high and wheel was more true than I am accustomed to new wheels being. After putting the wheel through a cycle of stress to simulate the first 100 or so miles of riding, the wheel remained true. Typically even fairly expensive wheels require more truing than the one I recieved. If you do not true your own wheels, this particular one might save you some money from taking it to the shop to have them true it. the rim has a fairly deep profile, which means shorter spokes and an overall stiffer wheel than the average wheel. Some may find that their valve stem is too short for their pump to work properly, requiring a long valve stem tube, which may be hard to find if you run fat tires(an extender would work too). My regular presta tube worked fine, but it was close to being too short to protrude sufficiently for my pump to attach to it... Read more |
