This review is from: Shimano XT PD-M785 Mountain Pedals (Sports) Bought these pedals because of positive reviews and i have been pleased with shimano products in general. They were shipped on time and arrived as promise. Price was about half of what local bike stores charged. Have had the pedal for several weeks with only one complaint. They did not want to release very easy even after i had loosened the adjustment as loose as possible. The solution was soaking them in wd-40 overnight and they worked fine ever since. I would purchase again. This review is from: Shimano XT PD-M785 Mountain Pedals (Sports) First time with clipless. I admit I was a bit worried, just turning 46, but an old dog can learn new tricks. Paired with new Shimano AM-45 shoes and SH-56 cleats to allow me to clip out by twisting either direction. XT PD-M785 pedals have easy spring tension adjustments with allen wrench. Cage helps line pedal up without having to look, and would likely allow you to get off the mountain if you lost a cleat, but I would doubt you'd want to do commuter pedaling in flat shoes for very long. It's already WAY easier to get my tires off the ground. When you're my age you'll take every advantage you can get. Can't wait to pass my son on the uphill. Amazon had the best deal around and installation was an absolute breeze with standard metric box wrenches.
