This review is from: Shimano SL-M590 Deore Shifter Lever Set (9-Speed) (Sports) I installed these on a 10 year old mountain bike after the original Deore XT shifters broke. The were easy to install using the included instructions. All the cables that you need are included. Works flawlessly so far. Not sure what I would have gained with a new set of XT shifters (which cost twice as much). 5 stars because of the price. So, shifting up takes soem effort. But once I get used to it, it was fine. I wish the installation instruction can be more detail as to how it fits with brake lever.
