I purchased this fork to replace a suspension fork on a Giant Hybrid. The original fork on the Giant was worn out with no replacement parts available. I needed a replacement to match the original geometry and be compatible with my rim brakes and made for a 700c wheel size.The ride has been great, the front end is lighter, no regrets. I am building a 29er with titanium frame and thought this fork will work well. There is not much choice actually when it comes to this kind of bike. Especially if you want your fork now, and if you are planning to put mud fenders on. Budget wasn't even my first concern here. My bike is still missing wheels, so obviously I dont have much to say about the quality of a ride but thought I might share some info about this fork. First of all I removed the metal parts which are there to mount the v-break on. I dont understand why someone who is spending 300-400 dolars on carbon fiber fork would like to use cheap v-breaks, but I guess it is nice to have a choice. Fork got matt finish, however under those metal rings it is a bit glossy for some reason. After cutting the tube for the frame I put fork on the scale, it read exact 900 grams - a little heavy as for carbon fiber. Hopefully it means fork is well bild and will last. |
