I use this as a rear tire on a Stans Flows rim run tubeless. I bought this primarily for technical rock gardens. I weight 190 and have it at 24 psi. Great traction and very durable. So far its had 1 1/2 seasons and it looks fairly new. It will have good traction if you set up your bike to position more weight in the back. I rode Fisher for years and got used to the Genesis geometry. Single speeders or those who ride out of the saddle a lot might be a little disappointed when using as a rear tire. Rolling resistance is less than an Ignitor but more than a Crossmark. Aired up great and hardly loses pressure between rides.

I'm pleased with this tire. I bought it for the front of my bike. It fits in a 2011 29" rockshox recon with just enough room. Any bigger would not work in the fork. Grip is good on southeastern root covered trails. It was easy to air up tubeless on conventional (non-ust) rims. I filled it with slime as a sealant, and the sidewalls are relatively non-porous. Compared to various other tires, these are closer to being airtight, and the exo sidewalls should be a benefit when run tubeless. I have to add only minimal air between rides, which is much better than other tires I've converted to tubeless

Like Mbalmer, I use this tire for ridinhg, off-road unicycles. Because all of my 200# is on one tire, I need sometng that won't collapse and give me pinch flats. I ride the 2.4 Ardent at 18-20 psi and it works great. I do use a super heavy duty DH tube, but for biking a normal mtb tube would be fine. I also ride the 26x2.6 Ardent DH version, which has a dual ply side wall and a wire bead. It is just as nice riding as the 29er, maybe a tad stiffer, so I'm running 16-18psi. An expensive tire, but worth it. I have ridden every substantial 29er tire including the super light RR 2.4 all the way up to the bruiser Kodiak and Dissent, but the Ardent is my first choice. When I rode 29er mtb, my fav was the Rampage.
